Frequently asked questions

How do I apply Herpatch Serum to the fever blister?

  1. Before use, wash or rinse the affected area
  2. Make sure your hands are clean and dry
  3. Gently apply a small amount of the film forming serum on the fever blister so that it adequately covers all lesions and a margin of healthy skin surrounding them. After a few minutes the white serum forms a protective and transparent film over the fever blister. The serum can be reapplied, if necessary, every 3-4 hours until the fever blister is completely healed. The film can be removed, if necessary, with warm water.
  4. You can use Herpatch Serum at any stage of the outbreak. However, we suggest applying it at first sign of an outbreak.

Can I combine Herpatch Serum with acyclovir cream?

No, this is not necessary because the patch itself has active properties so no need to rub extra cream on it.

Can I use Herpatch Serum when I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or breast feeding, please consult a professional before using.

Can Herpatch Serum be used with children?

From the age of 4 Herpatch Serum can be used with children under the supervision of an adult. Under the age of 4 please consult your doctor.

How long do I have to use Herpatch Serum?

You can use Herpatch Serum during each stage of the fever blister cycle from tingling to healing. However, we suggest applying it at first sign of an outbreak. The serum can be reapplied, if necessary, every 3-4 hours until the fever blister is completely healed.

How can I remove Herpatch Serum?

The film can be removed, if necessary, with warm water.

Where can I use Herpatch Serum?

Use Herpatch Serum on your fever blister or the area where you feel the tingling of a fever blister outbreak. This can be on your lips or around your mouth. Do not use inside the mouth, on mucous membranes or for genital herpes.

What is the difference between Herpatch and a typical acyclovir cream?

Herpatch Serum forms a protective and transparent film over the blister in comparison with a typical acyclovir cream. This film-forming serum loaded with active properties, creates an ideal micro-environment and helps to speed up the healing process.

Herpatch Serum will treat every stage of the outbreak, from the tingling to the healing phase, while acyclovir creams only have an effect during the first stage of the outbreak.

The benefits are numerous. Herpatch Serum fastens the healing of your fever blister, prevents the itching and burning, takes away the redness and swelling, prevents scabbing and reduces the blistering.

Because of these reasons, Herpatch Serum is highly effective.

Can I put a Herpatch patch on top of the Herpatch Serum?

This is not necessary because Herpatch serum itself has active film-properties, so no need to apply a patch on top of the film forming Herpatch Serum. Nevertheless, the patch and the serum can be used alternatively.

Can I put lipstick over Herpatch Serum?

Yes. You just need to wait a few minutes that the cream becomes a patch before you can apply your lipstick over the Herpatch Serum.
